Thanksgiving 2014

Despite the craziness of juggling 3 kids, a busier work schedule and Samantha's 5th birthday ON Thanksgiving this year it was a really fun Thanksgiving, or Thanksbiving, as Samantha still calls it.  For the first time since we have attended, Maracas invited parents to come and share in a Thanksgiving celebration with the kids.  Watching both kids was a bit tricky since they are in separate classrooms and both were doing their celebrations at the same time, oh, and then Claire decided she was STARVING about half way through Henry's.  But, it worked out.  I saw the majority of Henry's, fed Claire while friends helped my kids get their meal and then Samantha's class did a reprise and Henry, Claire and I watched it.  Super cute.  It was fun to be there and I was so grateful to be part of such a wonderful community.

Don't Henry and Ben looked thrilled to be in the short play??

I was very impressed by the haches (axes) made out of paper towel rolls and paper grocery bags.  Henry is still not a fan of being in front of a large crowd but he participated willingly.  He LOVES his teacher, Senora Vicky.

My favorite part is when half of the pilgrims die due to disease and hunger (at about 48 seconds)...

The day before Thanksgiving we headed to High Point to spend time with Gammy & Popsy, the Colgans, Moores and Dauby.  It was a long but super fun day.  Gammy & Dauby took 10 of the 12 grandkids to a movie while all 6 of us parents went to lunch.  What a treat!  And, it was the first time all 12 grandchildren were together!

With 5 boys in the house there was a LOT of wrestling going on, Tio Pays was happy to get involved...

We spent Thanksgiving Day at mom and dad's. It was Samantha's birthday so a lot of the photos from that day are rolled into Samantha's birthday post. It was a very fun day and I was so grateful to take a pass on cooking this year, thanks Mom! Except for the Derby pie that I made last minute. It was awesome, but sadly Mom doesn't like pecans, sorry Mom! Dinner was awesome!
