Samantha at 5 years old

These are a few things I want to remember about my Mantha Jane at 5 years old...

-she still skips when she is happy and excited and it makes my heart sing
-she loves music and dancing
-she still asks for "milkie" at breakfast and dinner
-she loves to wear dresses, the longer the better
-she loves rainbows
-she can write her entire first name now, she has gone from Sam to Samantha in the past 3 months
-she is darn fast when we play chase, I have a hard time catching her these days
-she still naps consistently, she will sleep for about 1.5 hours 80% of the time
-she loves carbohydrates and asks for cereal for breakfast and snack just about every day, she will ask for dessert after dinner EVERY night
-she has been enjoying showing love to our cats by petting them more and feeding them treats
-she is usually very kind to Henry and 95% of the time they play together like best friends
-she colors anywhere between 1-4 pictures a day, at times they are very elaborate
-she is very good about trying new foods but is still very picky about vegetables, what she doesn't know is that she drinks beets and kale just about every day in her smoothies...
-she has great balance and amazing core muscle strength and she can bust out an impressive cartwheel
-she is already an independent swimmer and can ride a bike without training wheels
-she is not afraid to pick up roly polys, slugs and caterpillars
-she has a hard time keeping her hands to herself when she is excited
-she LOVES jewelry and having her nails painted
-she is a great helper when asked and will very willingly help Henry clean up when he feels over whelmed
-she LOVES to go to school and consistently requests to do homework
-she uses her Spanish vocabulary unprompted quite frequently. She also tells people that she speaks English, Spanish and Russian (the latter from Belarusian student last summer).
-she is FINALLY sleeping through the night without needing pull-ups!! And her Poppy is quite happy to pick her calm, snuggly and sleeping body up around 11 pm to carry her to toilet to empty one last time.  She is very proud of her achievement and likes to share that she now wears panties to bed.
-this girl is a future hoarder. She loves to place all variety of objects/toys into a bag put it in a corner and leave it there for days on end. "It's for my trip..." No sweetie, you are a trip and keep us laughing all day!  And we love you beyond the ends of the earth.
