Samantha at age 7

Our Samantha Jane.  She is such a sweet girl.  Most days, full of joy and a zest for life.  She loves her family, learning and she is growing in her faith.  We are so proud of who she is becoming.

Samantha is doing great in school and is a very avid reader.  If there are new library books on the table when she comes home from school you can barely get her attention as she surveys the books and decides which one to dive into first.

She is doing great in math and can do fairly complicated addition and subtraction problems in her head.  We frequently do word problems in the car, at her request.  She has many friends but seems most attached to Kate and Sofia right now.  She is learning how to solve problems with friends and amongst friends.  She is a peacemaker and tries her best to help others get along.

She loves to play with her cousins and playdates where she has dedicated time with Julia just make her beam.

Samantha is still enjoying gymnastics and she is also playing soccer on Saturdays with Henry.  She definitely prefers gymnastics and she continues to impress us with her strength and agility.  She loves to jump on the trampoline at our neighbor's house and play silly chase games (Dead Man, Hungry Alligator, Vampiros).
She got to the top on her own accord!

Samantha and Henry's relationship is constant and conflicted.  He wants nothing more than to do what she is doing, with her but better than her.  She is rarely competitive with him but frequently frustrated that he is always at her heels, looking for her attention.  There are times that they play very well together for a long period of time but most often if they are on their own we hear "HENRY!" and "STOOOOOP!" after 2-3 minutes.

Samantha and Claire usually play well together and Samantha is very generous in sharing her toys.  She is usually happy to do what makes Claire most happy: play dolls and princess dress up.  Claire loves playing with Mantha's "big girl toys," her shopkins and American Girl toys.  Samantha is usually a huge help in getting Claire going in an activity and has been helping with her potty training.

Samantha continues to be an avid artist and loves to draw and color.  She is still a big fans of rainbows and hearts.

We are so proud of our big girl.  She makes our lives bright every day.  We are excited for her to celebrate her 7th year of life.
