New Year's Eve Trip to Myrtle Beach

During the weeks before Christmas I realized that the kids had not been out of Raleigh since school started in August.  One Sunday when I was "couched" at home with back pain and the kids and Pays were at church I put together a quick trip to Myrtle Beach which we gave to them as a Christmas gift.  About an hour after we gave them the gift they started asking, "How many more days until Myrtle Beach?"  Needless to say, they were excited.

We stayed at Dunes Village which had 2 indoor waterparks complete with a lazy river, water slides and hot tubs.  The kids loved the waterslides and there were 2 that Claire could do with us which we did over and over again.

We were able to visit with Frances and Michael on Thursday and then with the Kelley's on Friday.  The kids were in heaven with all of the big kid attention and Henry in particular was over the moon happy holding Sean and Ian's bearded dragon and gecko.

On Saturday morning we went to Ripley's Aquarium which was amazing.  Lots of touch and feel tanks including jellyfish, rays and horseshoe crabs.  The girls loved the mermaid show and were thrilled to have their picture taken with mermaid Claire.

On New Year's Eve we went to Medieval Times for dinner as a special treat.  We all enjoyed the horses and the show.

It just wouldn't be New Year's without Pays doing a Polar Plunge.  This year was the best ever.  IN the ocean and straight to a hotel hot tub when he was done.  Easy!
