Henry's 4th Birthday and Payson's 37th

I have to say, it is really fun to celebrate the boys' birthdays together. Maybe it is because they are now outnumbered by the girls, or maybe its because they are so similar, whatever the reason, it was really fun to celebrate them this year.

That being said, I was totally behind the ball in January. I was planning on having Henry's party at a bounce house but they were all booked by the time I started calling around. It is ironic because he had been asking for a "Toothless" party at our house for the past 2-3 months. So, that is what we did. (Toothless is the main dragon in the How to Train Your Dragon movie.) Of course, there were great ideas on Pinterest so off we went with a dragon party.

It was very fun and I could not have done it without A LOT of help. My super sweet neighbor Erin made the cute fuzzy sheep that we used for the sheep toss game which quickly turned into sheep dodge ball. My mom made an amazing dragon lair cake, complete with a volcano. Sally helped me find great Toothless decorations including wall decals that the kids had a blast putting up, (they may not come down until H-man turns 5). Dad helped me shape the paint stirrers into swords. Considering I only had 3 weeks to prepare and we were in California for one of them, the preparation was actually not too overwhelming.

One of the best parts of the party was having our nephew Noah there. Henry and Noah are best beds and Sally drove 8 hours to get him and bring him to our house and then drove him back 3 days later. Such a special treat. THANK YOU Gammy! We just love our Noah Nugget.

So the party went well and I think all of the kids had a good time. It was cold and wet again so we were indoors but it worked out well. The garage was a great extra space for activities and we recently chucked some old furniture from the playroom upstairs so we have more space up there as well. The kids were respectful to each other with their swords and had fun using them in the dragon slaying activities. At Henry's request we had pizza and wings and I think the adults enjoyed the fare as well.

After rest time in the afternoon, we had our second family party with Mom&Dad, Gammy&Popsy and the Moores (and Noah too!). As a treat for Pays, Sally made a prime rib roast that was delicious. Round #2 of dessert was a peppermint ice cream pie, reminiscent of McConnell's. THEN, after the kids were all asleep Pays and I headed out to see Steep Canyon Rangers with friends. The whole day felt like 3 days rolled into 1. It wasn't even my birthday but I would definitely say, it was one of the best birthdays for our family yet.

Pays, Samantha, Claire and I were all able to celebrate Henry's birthday with him with his class at Maracas. He looooves his teacher, Senora Vicky. She is so sweet and patient with him. I love to watch her interact with the kids. She is kind and firm and they have so much respect for her.

Payson presented Henry's poster about his life this time.

Senora Vicky had a sweet gift and a fun gift to share with Henry and his class. I love how she made the presentation of the gift into a learning experience for the class.

A funny clip of sheep dodgeball at the party at our house.
