Henry and I had the great pleasure of visiting the cousins for a long weekend. What an amazing time! We just loved the small town feel and the great outdoor activities. But most importantly, we just loved spending time with the special Colgan family. Of course, it being a Thompson-Colgan get together there had to be some sickness involved…this trip started a few hours late because Henry had vomiting the night before we were supposed to leave (and even totally doused his poppy from the top bunk!) Luckily he improved quickly and we had an uneventful drive down with multiple Star Wars videos.
We got the first day started off with a bang. Wends had the great idea to enjoy a park and woods since it was a beautiful day after a long winter. So while the bigger kids were at school we packed a picnic and took Henry, Tommy and Noah to explore and play with blasters in the woods (and of course get wet in the creek!) Later we played some serious soccer in the front yard with all the kids. Check out the videos to see some action, including Jake dog protecting his family from big, bad Tio by putting my entire leg in his mouth (listen for my scream!)
On Saturday I went with Wendy and Charlie and Fletch to a 5k race and saw Wends and Fletch bring home some hardware! They both ran excellently on a difficult course. Unfortunately I could not join them as the stomach bug had taken hold of me. Luckily it was short lived so I could enjoy the rest of the day
On Saturday we went to an awesome air force museum and saw a bunch of old planes and weapons (which the boys loved!) Then we took part in the winter fest with some tubing and play house sliding.
Our Sunday walk in the woods by Sarah's school ended with some legit blaster time…we tried to knock down some big rotten trees!
Of course, Henry wanted to end every day with bath time with his cousins. So special to have time with his favorite buddies!!
