Henry at 18 months
SELF!
This is Henry's theme song these days. Henry, do you want help getting into your carseat? No, self. Henry, do you want help getting dressed? No, self. Henry, can I help you wash your hands? No, self! (Picture scrunched together Poppy eyebrows staring back at you)
On that note...Henry's language amazes us everyday. Pays recently came back from a 2 day trip and said, "Henry's talking!" And he is...there isn't much that we don't understand and he says new words daily. It is soooo nice! It is great to have mini conversations with the kids at meals about the birds we see at the feeders, family members, friends and favorite activities.
Henry continues to eat very well and by far his favorite meal is "Bugs" which is mac n' cheese with bug shaped pasta. He loves "pas-ta" in general and has eaten every shape of noodle we have ever put in front of him. He also loves fresas and fruit in general. Samantha is very into getting special treats for good behavior these days and it is not uncommon to hear Henry say, "I want treat."
Henry adores Samantha and she is always the first person that he asks for when he gets up, "Where Mantha?" They are very into playing with their baby dolls right now and he will frequently ask for Baby Maggie or Baby Abby during the day. They also love to read and Henry is loving having a basket between their car seats so that he can grab his own books to read (self!). Thanks for the tip Marts!
Henry is a super physical kiddo and needs lots of outside time daily. We are usually out of the house by 9:30 in the am. By 9:00 he is climbing up the outside of the stairs, straddling the back of the couch or climbing onto the counters. He loves to kick a ball with Poppy and our empty dining room has become a "ball room" for evening play.
Henry is still a snuggler! Before nap and bedtime he will sit chest to chest with us on the glider in his room. He will lay his head on his lovey on our chest and let us sing to him. He sings along making silly sounds and rubs our neck or back. It is heaven! A small connection to our precious baby who is now such a precocious little boy!
