This summer we co-hosted an 8 year old boy from Belarus with Tom & Sally. My parents have hosted 2 girls for the past 4 years and we felt like we were ready to open up our home to host. Sally and Tom shared the responsibility with us which was super helpful. There is a decent amount of driving that goes on getting the kids to events and we are very much in nap prison with Claire in the afternoon. Senya is a sweet boy with a LOT of energy. Henry really enjoyed having a partner in crime for the summer and the two teased Samantha relentlessly. 6 weeks goes by fast and we enjoyed a lot of fun activities together: beach time, museums, parks, lots of pool time, bike riding, Legos...
I am not sure if we will host again next year but overall it was a good experience to push our family's comfort limits a bit and see how we would do.
