Claire's Ear Tubes

A few weeks ago sweet Claire had ear tubes inserted. She was such a rockstar that day. We had to be at the outpatient surgical center at 6:00am and she wasn't able to eat or drink anything prior to the procedure. She was totally happy to see me when I plucked her out of her crib at 5:30am and then kept shooting me these super sweet, bashful smiles on the way there as if to say, "What kind of adventure is this?"

She never once asked for food or her milk! I was so surprised! She usually asks for her leche as soon as we walk through her door in the morning. I wish I had gotten a picture of her sitting on the stretcher as they rolled her down the hall. She sat so quietly and still and just looked forward, until she realized I wasn't near her and then I heard her screaming. It only took 10 minutes to put them in and they drained lots of yucky fluid that day. We snuggled together in bed for an hour or so as the anesthesia wore off and then it was back to the party as usual. She was running around, eating and chatting up a storm as per usual. She was down for a nap when Henry got home and he has sad to not see her right away, "Where is Claire? I have been missing her like crazy!" Her post-op check went well, the tubes are open and her hearing is perfect. We are so grateful!

Happy girl waiting to get going

Not feeling quite herself on the way home
