When you ask Samantha what it means, now that she is six, she will say, "I mean, I am just so much bigger now!" She seems to think she grew overnight, and it certainly does seem that way sometimes.
Since she is our first, it is always amazing to reflect on how FAST the time goes. Six years?? Wow! It really does feel like we were walking home from the hospital with her yesterday.
She is such a sweet, happy soul, our Samantha Jane. We always giggle when we observe her smiling in her sleep, it is so sweet. She loves Claire tremendously, some times a bit too much. I can't tell you how many times I have said to her, "Can you take a break from kissing her for a while? I think she is getting annoyed." As Claire is squealing and batting at her...
All things considered, Samantha and Henry get along well. There are times that he is just an immature 4 year old brother who LOVES to tease and he knows how to press her buttons. But they LOVE to color and craft together and play chase and hide ∧ seek. It is my sincere hope that their bond of friendship will continue to strengthen over time.
Samantha is doing great in school and loves the challenge of learning. She will come home and immediately sit down with a snack and will continue to practice her letters and basic math. She has lots of friends (fourteen if you ask her!) and happily heads to the bus each am to start the day.
We are wrapping up soccer and Samantha has requested to get back into gymnastics over the winter. She has excellent core strength and hustles after the ball. I have no doubt that in whatever sport she ultimately choses that she will excel.
Samantha still loves princesses and dress up. She loves to play school, vacation, family and pets with Henry and her friends. She also loves jewelry and crafts. She and Henry love to dance and sing to pop music. Her current favorite songs are 'Fight Song' and 'Hello.'
We are so blessed to have this sweet girl in our lives. We love you Samantha Jane!
