Our house has been decorated for Halloween since September 19th. I kid you not. We have been ready. I love this holiday and so do the kids. It was very fun choosing our costumes this year and I was so excited when Samantha asked me to be a witch with her. I am very aware that this will not happen for very long and before I know it I won't even be able to trick or treat with her. Both kids were very excited about face paint and waited patiently for me to come home from work to get ready.
Our neighborhood's gaggle of kids is growing and the fun is growing with it. Our neighbors hosted a pre-trick or treating party which was very fun and helped to get some wiggles out pre-trick or treat.
The kids swarmed in a big group for a few houses and then gradually broke into smaller groups. Henry got tired quickly and asked to ride in the stroller more than once. Claire was a champ (as usual) and was along for the ride the whole time, no complaining. She loved choosing her piece of candy and waved to our neighbors. She was content to toddle slowly behind the group.
When everyone was tired we headed back to our house and handed out candy by the fire and Poppy did his best to scare the trick or treaters by jumping out from behind bushes. One middle school aged kid said to him, "Man, you do that every year."
After the kids were in bed Pays and I enjoyed so more fire time with our neighbors. It was an AWESOME night.
I love his video of Claire toddling along, Henry at the end is asking to sit in the stroller...
