Halloween 2014

Halloween just keeps getting better as the kids get older.  I hope that we aren't excused from trick or treating for a long, long time.  It is so fun to be part of the excitement in dressing up and trick or treating with friends.  It brings back so many memories.

We had a fun day and the kids took good naps so that they would be able to stay up until 9:00 (whoa!).  We went to a friends' house for a yummy dinner and headed out to trick or treat as a group.  The only snag was when poor Henry couldn't find an adult he recognized at a house with a steep driveway.  We were waiting at the bottom and he couldn't see us and he was scared.  Poor buddy.  He had a hard time getting into trick or treating again and was ready to go back to our house to hand out candy.

Handing out candy was definitely a highlight.  Poppy was excited to sneak up on kids from behind the bushes and our kids thought he was HYST-erical.  Henry's self esteem got a major boost when a middle schooler patted him on the back and said, "Thanks buddy."  He was so proud!  It was an excellent teaching moment on helping others feel happy.  Loved it.

Can't wait for next year!
