Over Mother's Day weekend we took the kids to Jellystone Park in Marion, NC for their first camping adventure and met up with Deb, Lance and Ryden. We were a bit nervous on the drive there as it poured down rain and more was in the forecast for the weekend. Luckily, it stopped when we arrived and didn't start again until after dinner, s'mores and a hay ride. The kids loved being in the tents while it rained and Poppy had brought 2 tarps to help keep us dry.
The park was Yogi Bear themed and had LOTS for the kids to do which was a huge help. Mini golf, fishing, kayaks, a pool, a playground and short hiking trails were all available to keep us busy during the day on Saturday. Henry was OBSESSED with looking for fish which were hanging out in beds close to the shore. He was literally patrolling up and down the banks looking for fish. The rain held out and the weather actually wound up being beautiful. Deb made an amazing dinner and we also enjoyed Reese's s'mores, so yummy!
On Sunday am Yogi Bear stopped by to visit and wish the moms Happy Mother's Day. The kids loved the visit and played hide and seek with Yogi.
It was an amazing weekend overall and the kids ask frequently when we can go back to visit "their friend Yogi."
