Two weeks ago Henry had bilateral ear tubes placed because he was getting frequent ear infections and his hearing in his right ear was being affected. He has been a tough nut to crack in terms of treating his infections because he often doesn't complain of pain until his ear drum ruptures. He was a trooper the day of the surgery and never complained about us waking him up early, not being able to eat and having lots of strangers ask him questions and examine him. The procedure took about 15 minutes total and went easily. Poor guy was pretty pathetic after the procedure and cried the whole way home (25 minutes, torture for Momma) and threw up twice before zonking out for 3.5 hours. He woke up his happy self and was full speed ahead for the rest of the day and even went to soccer practice that evening. We are grateful for what seems to have been a successful procedure and it seems as though his hearing (and behavior) are better so far. He has a repeat hearing test in a few more weeks. Such a brave little guy!
