It was a really amazing holiday season this year. Samantha and Henry had so much fun getting ready for Christmas and loved all of the preparations. They loved looking for their elves every morning and would tear downstairs to find out what they were up to. The baking was definitely a hit and they kids were able to make the turtle candies almost completely independently. They were both ecstatic to learn the songs for their respective Christmas performances at school. Henry is still belting out "Hoy es Navidad" at meals. They both LOVED watching "Elf" and can quote multiple lines from the movie. We also read "Polar Express" and "The Night Before Christmas" once or twice a day in the weeks prior to Christmas. Poor Samantha was convinced that we would have snow for Christmas based on the books and was so excited to build a snowman! Henry loved to point out that the children are not being safe when they get out of bed to see Santa in "The Night Before Chrsitmas", how ironic is that! We went on MANY neighborhood walks and car rides to look at lights. We have a local neighbor who has synchronized music and lights and they loved to dance around listening to it. The Christmas calendar from Gammy was another hit and it was not loved quite so harshly this year but there were still a lot of pieces that needed gluing back together. It was also great practicing SHARING who got to put an ornament on the tree that day.
We were in High Point for Christmas this year with Gammy & Popsy and the Moores. So fun to celebrate together and teach the kids about fun family traditions. Both Samantha and Henry have asked when will it be time to celebrate Christmas again. Only 350 more days!
Gammy made a gingerbread barn for a family friend's wedding this year. It was truly incredible. I think the kids had almost as much fun destroying the house as they did opening their gifts.
