The kids had a great time getting ready for Easter this year and were master egg hunters by the time March 31st rolled around. We hunted for eggs in our yard frequently and also went to 2 egg hunts; one with the Wee Walker group and another in Nonni and Grandpa Mikey's neighborhood. Samantha's favorite color is pink right now. Henry was super sweet and whenever he found a pink egg he would bring it over to her basket. I was pleasantly surprised by how little they fought over the eggs. Rather, they enjoyed opening them together and shrieking about the contents inside.
We have had A LOT of crummy weather recently so there were many opportunities for inside activities like coloring eggs and baking Easter cut outs. Both kids were excited about frosting and decorating cookies. Henry only wanted to cut out ducks and Samantha only wanted to cut out princess flowers. When we decorated eggs Henry and mom & dad's neighbor Clint (also the youngest) outlasted their older siblings in staying to the end to decorate all of the eggs.
The night before Easter we talked about the EB and the kids were excited to leave out a few carrots and some lettuce. Henry insisted that the EB would like to have some milkie too. Samantha was wise to point out that we should put the dogs to bed early so that they wouldn't eat the EB's treats. On Easter morning we did our egg hunt inside and it was so fun. The EB left them each a fun look and find book (they are OBSESSED with them!) and the Peter Pan DVD. After breakfast they watched the DVD snuggled together and giggled about Captain Hook's antics. Nonni and Grandpa Mikey came over around lunchtime to spend time with us and then we headed over to Courtney and Eric's house for a yummy lamb dinner. It was the first time we had seen their house and it is super cute.
The only very sad part of our day was the early departure of Gammy & Popsy on Easter morning because Gammy was feeling awful. We missed being able to spend special time together but we are grateful we had some time together on Saturday. She is muuuuch better now!
