Henry at 21 months
Mommy. Play. MEEEE! is what I heard many times today. Henry is such an active little guy, he is definitely tough to keep up with at times. By far is favorite activity at home is to play chase with Samantha and Poppy with their socks on. All three of them go tearing around the downstairs "sliding" in their socks and trying not to collide. He also loves to play soccer in our empty dining room (aka ballroom). Poppy. Futbol. MEEEE! He is doing great in his gymnastics class and will bust out a forward roll just about anywhere. He was doing one on the sidewalk at the playground the other day and Samantha explained to an amused parent that "Henry is our danger boy."
Henry continues to be a great eater. He will try just about anything and will announce "I yike it!" if it meets his approval. He loves to eat apples these days and they are the perfect snack for car trips where he is otherwise getting into trouble.
He loves to read and currently his favorite books are "Uy! Hay un raton en la casa" and a princess Look and Find book of Samantha's. Samantha is still very much Henry's bestest friend and he wants to do everything she does. These days that includes dressing up as a princess and wanting to read all of her princess books.
Henry also loves playing with his cousin William who just turned five and is so patient and sweet with him. William had a knights themed birthday party and we brought home a knight's helmet and shield. These are now prized possessions and are now his go-to for dressing up.
When I put Henry to bed he likes to be snuggled with his lovey (Baby), Pooh, 2 other small bears and covered with a blankie. He is literally buried in plush, it is so ridiculous. Luckily he falls asleep easily on his own and he will play with the animals for 20+ minutes when he wakes up. There are times I think he is playing "aplastado," smash the animal in his crib because of the loud banging and thumping going on.
Henry loves small spaces and recently has spent hours tucked behind a stool in our kitchen or in the chair space of a children's desk playing with plastic animals. He will take them out of the plastic bin one by one and gets them all spread out and announces, "Yook!"
Henry still goes to a Music & Movement class on Fridays at our local community center while Samantha is at school. I wasn't sure if he would still enjoy going with Samantha not being there but he really loves the teacher and often talks about going to "clase" with Miss Wonda (Rhonda). He does great participating with different instruments and dancing with ribbons and shaking the parachute. He is the best helper cleaning up the toys and loves the puppet show at the end.
He is such our sweet little guy. I can't believe he will be 2 years old in 3 short months!
