Henry at 11 months

The boy is just walking and talking away now! He is just taking off in terms of both steps and sounds these days.

A few days before Christmas Henry started taking steps on his own. Now in the past week he is walking 6-10 steps and can usually get about halfway across the room before falling. If he is close to his destination he will literally lurch forward to get there. It is amazing to watch his progress everyday. He is constantly climbing as well. Onto child size chairs, the Bumbo, in and out of Samantha's bed and in and out of the toy chest. He is amazing on stairs and already knows how to go down feet first.

He is also talking! He has always loved to mimic what others are doing but now he can mimic our sounds as well. He says 'thank you' when you hand him something he wants (usually his bottle) and he is constantly saying something that sounds like 'Santa.' Sometimes it sounds like Samantha but she isn't always around when he says it. He loves to say 'cat' and points to interesting objects and says 'that.' He can also mimic Payson whistling and he cracks himself up when he does it.

His hand eye coordinating is also progressing. He has been eating with a spoon over the past few weeks and does very well. He can also tear of his bib in about 2 seconds when can be frustrating.

He is weaning from breast and formula feeding and does great with cows milk. He also does pretty well with a sippy cup although he is only mildly interested in drinking water right now. He is very different from Samantha in that he likes to sip on his bottle during awake time and only drinks and ounce or so at a time. Samantha always asked for and finished her milk right away.

He still has a great appetite and eats just about everything we offer to him. If someone is eating he wants to be part of the mix and will bounce and babble at you to let you know.

Something he has done for a while that I keep forgetting to write is his lying down. It is not infrequent that he will be playing or headed across a room and he will just lie down on his belly or back and just look around for 10-15 seconds. It is not in discontent. He is just taking a break, trying to decide what to do next. It is super cute. I hope we can catch it on video.

Henry also loves to give wet, open mouth, sloppy kisses. He will kiss us with prompting but I often see him kissing toy animals and Bruno.

Overall, he is a precious boy with a wonderful disposition. We are so blessed to have him in our lives.
