Samantha 20 months Henry 6 months

Our kiddos are getting so big! At their well child checks yesterday Henry weighed in at 19.5 pounds and Samantha was 27 pounds. It is crazy to think that Samantha has more than tripled her birth weight and Henry has more than doubled his. They were both very brave getting their vaccines but I am glad they will both get a break for a while other than flu shots this fall.

We moved into our apartment in Cary 10 days ago and the kids are having fun exploring their new surroundings and Samantha is rediscovering her toys that had been packed away. Hands down her favorite toy these days is the play kitchen that was given to us by my parents neighbors. She loves to organize the kitchen utensils and dishes and to bring us different foods that she has cooked. Henry enjoys playing alongside her and loves it when she makes food for him.

We are also having a fun rediscovering our kids CDs. Samantha loves to dance and jump around to music, preferably on a bed. Henry squeals and laughs at her antics.

That being said, they have entered a fun new stage where they love to do things together. Basically Henry wants to be with his sister AT ALL TIMES! He gets frustrated and BORED when she is not around. And he just lights up when she enters the room, and especially if she hugs him or dances/plays with him. He doesn't even mind when she "accidentally" knocks him over when he has her blankie ("uh-oh").

Eating is another great example. If Henry is eating solids then Samantha wants to be in a chair next to him eating as well. She loves to chose which bib each of them will wear and tries to pass him pieces of her food. Henry is doing great with solids and loves to eat baby rice cookies, puffs and pieces of mashed bananas. He is still nursing well and is taking the bottle like a champ while Momma is at work.

Small Fry is SO close to crawling and will probably be on the move by my next post. He can get onto all fours and rock away but he just can't get a hand or knee off the ground without falling. This doesn't stop him from rolling and squirming his way across the room to be closer to Samantha or to get into something interesting. But still his most favorite activity is grabbing his junk when he is getting his diaper changed. The minute that diaper comes off his hand is down there scratching and pulling. Needless to say the Y chromosome runs strong early on!

He is quite the raspberry blower and when he is having fun playing by himself he will often blow raspberry after raspberry. Samantha was never a raspberry blower but she often imitates him now which is so cute.

Henry's pacifer is now an item of the past. We accidentally left it in a hotel room in Pennsylvania on the way to Lake Placid and we decided to see what happened without it. He didn't seem to notice at all, awesome! The kids still loves his lovey, a blue doggy that rattles. We would have had a serious issue if that had been left at the Holiday Inn.

I am hesitant to even write this but Henry is finally seems to be sleeping consistently from about 9pm to 5:45am. He nurses and then goes back to sleep until I wake him up at 7:15am. He is a champion napper during the day and is down to 3 good naps. He is close to where Samantha is when she was about 5 months old and we are so happy to be getting some consistent rest. Ahhh...
