Walking! This has been Samantha's biggest accomplishment this month. Of course she waited until the day after her baby brother was born but she is off and (almost) running now. She can already stoop and recover and get up off the floor without using her hands. Watching her progress over the past few days has been fascinating.
She is also starting to say words that we can understand. So far we have heard: airplane, Rudy (our neighbor's dog that she just loves), night night, uh-oh AND Henry! Super cute! She continues to sign well and finally did a sign that we interpreted for "all done" today after lunch. Yay! She has started holding her hands in the air when she hears a interesting sound or we ask her a question she doesn't know the answer to as if to say, "What's that?" or "I don't know." So sweet!
Her sleep schedule has thankfully been uninterrupted by Henry's arrival and continues to make the days manageable so far.
She loves her animals and Pogo (our big black/white cat) has decided it is worth it to not run away when Samantha is around and tolerate her rough petting. She still makes her "Arrrr..." cat sound whenever she sees the cats that is so funny and is actually pretty hard to imitate.
She is a busy girl these days and boy do they go by fast. We are both looking forward to working less during February and soaking up some family time.
