Samantha Jane at 12 months

Amazing how fast a year can go by! It seems like all of the sudden we look at our "baby" and she has become a little girl. She is not quite toddling yet but spends a lot of time cruising along furniture and pulling herself up on just about anything. She loves to climb and we need to watch her a bit more closely these days as she can get onto the coffee table in seconds. "Danger," has become a much more frequently word used in our house.

Samantha is quite the eater and will thankfully eat most of what we put in front of her. She seems to be quite the pork lover like her Papi; the girl can put away some ham! She was transitioned easily to her sippy cups and whole milk. She is finally drinking more water from a sippy cup and has gotten into the habit of taking sips here and there while she is playing.

Her height and weight continue to follow the 50%ile. She weighs 21 pounds and 10 ounces and is 29 inches long. Crazy to think that she has tripled her body weight and increased her height by 50% in just one year!

Her top right tooth has finally made its appearance! It is super cute to see her toothy grins.

She is still sleeping very well and is going to bed around 7:30pm and getting up about 6:30am. She still takes a morning and an afternoon nap that last from 1h 15 minutes to 2+ hours. We are so grateful for a predictable sleeper! It allows us to get workouts in and household chores done with some regularity.

We try to go to a park once a day for her to play outside and interact with other children. We are fortunate to live in such a beautiful area with LOTS of kids playgrounds to chose from and consistently mild weather. We usually take the dogs with us as well. She loves the swings and slides and is becoming more adventurous exploring the tunnels and suspension bridges. We are often surprised how well she is able to navigate some of the big kids toys.

We still take a family walk every night before she goes to bed and we are having so much fun looking at our neighborhood's Christmas lights. She is very into pointing right now and will point out every house's lights and decorations. She still looks for the moon whenever we are outside and she has surprised us quite a few times by being able to find it in the daytime as well!
