Claire at 21 months

Wow, it seems like Claire is literally running toward her 2 year old birthday.  Maybe even hurtling toward it?  She is in constant motion always chasing after Samantha and Henry.

She is adding new words to her vocabulary every day and Henry prides himself on teaching her how to talk.  (Claire say booger!)  She definitely gets frustrated easily if she cannot convey or get what she wants in a timely manner.  Rolling around on the ground in frustration is still a daily event.  She is stringing more words together as well and it is not uncommon to hear, "Mommy! Henry's bike!"  "Go outside!"

As you can see by the photos, her obsession with kitties continues.  She feeds Pogo and Uno treats daily and we recently found a kitty song on an old kids music playlist.  Sadly, the song is only about 1:25 in length and she wants to listen to it over, and over, and over.  Her white(ish) kitty goes everywhere with her these days and he is starting to look pretty "loved."

Claire started a gymnastics class at Gym Carolina on Wednesday mornings and she has really been enjoying it.  When we roll up after dropping Henry off she will say, "Claire play, Claire play!"  She has done very well trying new gross motor skills and she loves to jump into the foam pit and on the trampoline.  Waiting patiently for the trampoline is difficult for her but she is making progress every week.

Claire's food preferences leave much to be desired these days.  She is pretty inconsistent in her fruit intake (she does like 'nanas) and veggies are pretty slim.  It takes a LOT of convincing for her to try something new.  Getting her to put something in her mouth if only to spit it out is actually an accomplishment.  By the power of suggestion she has decided she likes fried eggs now instead of scrambled.  She and Henry can crush some cereal and pancakes in the am.

We are starting to lose some of our snuggles at night when we put Claire to bed.  It is sad, but we knew it was inevitable.  She will often sing by herself in her crib for about 30-45 minutes after we zip her in.  She cute to hear her singing back the songs that we sing to her.

She is a sweet girl our baby Claire!  We love you so much!

Man, we have gotten some miles out of this doll stroller!  I think 95% of the time kids were pushing kids and not actually dolls.

Recently some neighbors passed down some big Legos to Claire and she was so happy!  She kept saying "Claire's Legos, Claire's Legos" over and over.

These two are best buds in the morning after Samantha heads out to school.  Henry chooses an activity and Claire follows happily along.  And Henry. Never. Stops. Talking. (or making some kind of noise)

Henry's shoes!

Rough and tumble girl

I love that you can hear her singing part of Cielito Lindo on the monitor as part of her self soothing
