Henry has been 1 for almost a month now so I thought it was about time I write some things down about his current stage.
The boy is so active! He is constantly walking and climbing onto things. If you leave a chair pulled our from a table he will be standing on the table on about 10 seconds. It seems like he is trying to run because when he gets excited he will walk very fast and thrust his arms forward and back in front of him as if they are wheels on a locomotive. He also walks with his belly waaaay out when he is in a hurry. For balance maybe? He looks like a little old man!
He is really progressing with communication and is now signing "more" and "all done." We are working on Help. He says Thank You, Ball and Boogie (milkie) very well.
Our big boy finally transitioned into a crib last week and he is doing great. That's right, Henrys slept for a full year in a Pack n' Play! The first day he wasn't particularly thrilled about the crib but he quickly adjusted and looks SO much more comfortable.
The kid is an eating machine and it isn't uncommon for him to eat 2 breakfasts or 2 lunches with snacks in between. He still loves his milk but is starting to drink more water. Our next project is to be done with the bottle. He does OK with a sippy cup but definitely prefers his bottle.
Poor guy is in the midst of getting some bottom teeth and he was pretty fussy last week. They haven't made their appearance yet but he seems much more comfortable.
We are entering into tantrums and they are not pretty. There has been lots of throwing down, rolling around and SCREAMING lately when he is frustrated, uncomfortable or just wants to be held.
Henry LOVES to ride in the Bjorn still and will drop everything and run screeching to Pays when he sees him putting it on. He will giggle the whole time he is along for the ride.
We have started to let him "walk" on our morning dog walks on the Greenway near our house. He will usually follow Samantha but is easily distracted but a worm, leaf or branch. He really does enjoy the new independence and it is great to watch him explore nature.
