The time seems to go faster everyday. Samantha turned 5 months last week and it seems that she is surprising us daily with new accomplishments.
- She is quite the eater and can put away 1/4 cup of rice cereal like nobody's business. We have given her peas, zucchini and butternut squash all of which she likes. What we do NOT like are the change in her poops which are now STINKY and are always on the verge of exploding from her diaper. Bye bye sweet breast milk poops...
- She is rolling over (back to front and front to back) frequently these days and can scoot from side to side when she is in pursuit of a desired object, especially coffee mugs and dishes. She is trying to pull her knees up underneath her but isn't quite there yet. We are trying to enjoy these days of limited mobility while they last.
- She uses her soft blanket to pacify herself before naps. She loves to rub it all over her face and frequently falls asleep with her face completely covered. We have to remind ourselves that she can breathe and can move it if she is uncomfortable. Nevertheless, we do a "blanket check" about 3-5 minutes into her nap to take the blanket off of her face.
- She loves to babble which is actually alot more like yelling, "ahhhh...AAHHHH...ahhhhhh." It is hysterical.
- She is a huge fan of dog walks and loves to hold the plastic bags.
- She is VERY easily distracted and will pretty much only nurse in her room with the door closed. She has no tolerance for the nursing cover, aka Hootie Hider. Siggghhh... I am pumping ALOT these days.
- She sleeps from 8:30-9:00pm until about 5:00 or 6:00am. She takes 4-5 naps during the day, mostly 45minutes to one hour with one good 2 hour nap. She will be up playing for almost exactly 2 hours and then is ready for her next nap!
- She LOVES 'Itsy Bisty Spider' and 'Two Little Bluebirds' as finger puppet songs.
- We have been calling her 'Manfers' as a funny nickname and I think she is learning that we are talking to her when we say it!
Sooooo cute! I can't wait to kiss her in just a few weeks!!!
